Groceries:
We usually stop in Oakhurst to buy our groceries at Raley's. (There is also a Von's there.) Wawona has two small stores but they carry a smaller selection and prices tend to be higher.
Snow Chains:
During the winter months you may be required to carry and/or use chains on your tires. To watch a video with snow chains information click here.
House Entry Password:
The front door's combination is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
Telephone:
The phone number at the house is (209) 372-2808.
Generator:
The house has a backup generator to provide electricity in case of a blackout (not unheard of in the Wawona area). The generator is hooked to a few lights and outlets in the kitchen and laundry room area. It will also provide power to the central heating unit, the refrigerator, both ovens, stove, and hot water for the entire house. It is programmed to start automatically when the power is out, but if it doesn't, or if it goes on accidentally, you can turn it on or off by going under the back deck and clicking on the on/off switch.
Firewood:
There is firewood inside the shed, behind the house. (Note that fires are not allowed in the summer.)
TV, VCR, DVD, and Sound System:
The TV remotes in the small basket on the coffee table, and you'll find instructions for our TV, VCR, etc., in the Scenic Wonders binder, also on the coffee table. The remotes and instructions for the upstairs TV and DVD/VCR player should be in the nightstand drawer upstairs.
Patio Furniture:
There are cushions in the laundry room for the patio furniture.
Bicycles (Kelly and Fede's friends and family only):
Please check with Kelly and Fede for the bike lock combination.
Internet:
The house has WiFi. To connect your laptop, access the list of networks and select "WawonaHome" (No password required). You can also connect directly to the modem, which is in the living room, but you'll need to have an Ethernet cable with you.
Extra beds:
In addition to the sleeper-sofa in the living room and a the pull-out futon in the loft, there are a couple of "Hide-a-mats", usually in the master bedroom closet.
